Last week we asked you how the Eagles 7’s team would perform in the Gold Coast. It was a relatively close vote, but 25% of you said the Eagles would make the Bowl semis. 22% of you said the team would make the Bowl final, while 16% though they would be in the Bowl semis. A more pessimistic (or realistic depending on perspective) 16% though the team would only make the Shield semis. 9% thought the team would win the Bowl while a optimistic 6% thought the team would make the Cup final or semis. Lastly, 3% accurately predicted that the team would make the Shield final.
As Alex Magleby expressed yesterday, it was a disappointing result for the team. While they had stretches of good play, they didn’t execute they way they wanted. Some players responded to the challenge while others fell flat. Magleby and the team will have a lot of work ahead of Dubai next month. With that in mind, this week we ask you to grade the Eagles 7’s performance in the Gold Coast.

I only got to see what was broadcast on NBC Sports so I only saw the very very bad Shield Final performance. I believe that fatigue and injuries played a large part in final result, but the attempts at tackling were poor at best. It looked more like USA wanted to give Scotland hugs instead of getting low and putting a shoulder into them.
